I took this at Our local natural area in Washington StateTime
The time of the day I believe was mid afternoon, It was late Fall, cold and overcast, so everything was illuminated equally.Lighting
Sunny days are great for shots that include the blue sky but overcast days are great for everything else that does not include the sky, for the simple reason that You get an even illumination on the subjects. Overcast days that include the sky end up over exposing ,so I am careful not include the sky on those days.Equipment
I use a cannon 60D and a kit lens ,In this shot I used a 55x 250x . Now this is great for zooming in on close subjects,If You are at least 3 fee away, a very versatile lensInspiration
On those overcast days I look for other types of compositions that do not include the sky so in a natural area I look down, rustic, natural things naturally catch My eye.Editing
I always shoot in raw , and there is a ton to read on the net about this, so it is worth looking into.So shooting in raw requires the photo to be processed. Saturation, curves , and detail enhancers are used in My photos .In my camera bag
I love the Cannon 55x 250, I take it everywhere, and a snickers and some water.Feedback
Always look to those things that catch Your eye, in the Natural world there is allot. Take Your time and compose the shot that natural thing is not going anywhere to fast , unless its a deer LOL.
