This is part of the walk way around Johnson Lake, Banff National Park, Alberta Canada. One of my very favorite places to visit. I look forward to returning and walking this boardwalk year after year, it never gets old, the scenery is so beautiful! My kind of paradise :)

Keri, you sure do understand the elements of design in photography. From the POV to the lead lines it is a beautiful catch. Your handling of tone mapping is also well done. Did you take 3 shots of this and combined or just one and tone mapped the one shot?

Location
I took this photo at Johnson Lake which is located in Banff National Park, Alberta Canada. Johnson Lake is one of my favorite spots to visit while on my yearly Banff trip. This lake has so many photo opportunities and a definite must visit if you're ever in the area.Time
This image was taken at 2:40 pm on a chilly day in October 2012.Lighting
This afternoon started off with very bright sunlight. I took some pictures but was so disappointed with the images I was capturing. Then, I got some cloud cover which saved the day! I was able to enjoy a few hours here and was much happier with the photos I was taking.Equipment
At the time this photo was taken, I was using a Sony A330 DSLR Camera. My lens for this shot was a Sony SAL18250mm, equipped with a ND Filter. My camera settings were: f/4.5, 1/80 sec, ISO 100, focal length 18mm, auto white balance, manual exposure.Inspiration
I think my inspiration for this image was to try something a little different - get low, try a new perspective. Normally, my focus would be the mountains. Although I love the scenery in Banff, I wanted to experiment at a different angle and showcase how awesome this walk way is. I'm sure most photographers say to themselves "I wonder what would happen if..."? Well, this photo is exactly that thought.Editing
I love editing photos and this was image was no exception. I used Photoshop Elements 9, Nik Color Efex and Photomatix for the processing. I like to experiment with filters, so I tonemapped this then added a little glow. I thought the outcome really worked here.In my camera bag
Since this photo was taken, my primary camera has been upgraded to a Sony a77. Typically when I am out and about, I take one lens with me. Currently I am favoring my Sony SAL1650mm lens. I do take my tripod and I have purchased a vertical grip so I don't worry about battery power if I decide to take long exposures. At this time, I have 4 lenses - all sony with the exception of my macro lens which is a Sigma 105mm F2.8 DG Macro. The Sony lenses are: my prime wide angle SAL20mm, zoom SAL18250mm and my favorite SAL1650mm.Feedback
When I posted this image on another site for a contest, I had a gentleman tell me this image would struggle, was unusual and would not be considered a paradise as per the contest description. At first I was taken aback by his comments and hurt even but then realized that I should be trying new things, different perspectives and by doing so, I would develop my own photography style so to speak. It ended up with this photo grabbing second place. I think my advice would be to try new things, get off the beaten path a little, take a chance and try getting a little lower - or even higher!
