Like the composition... the bridge and the anchor chain are both so iconic... both a bridge and a chain have ordinary purpose; but an anchor chain and a suspension bridge remind us of the creative beings we can discover within; that we can be when confidence drives a solution to a unique problem.

The background of the Golden Gat Bridge adds so much to this fine image.

Location
This photo was taken on the SF side of the Golden Gate bridge.Time
It was around mid day I believe.Lighting
Typical overcast day in SF with the sun wanting to break out in certain areas.Equipment
Used my ultra wide angle on my 60D CanonInspiration
Since the GG bridge is the most photographed bridge on this planet, I was looking for an angle that I've never seen before. As I strolled along the Marina district toward the fort, I noticed the pits in the old iron chains in the foreground and thought that it would make for a perfect subject matter along with the bridge in the background. I had read and seen old photos of the iron workers that risked their lives building the bridge during the turn of the century and admire their courage and strength. This photo represents and dedicated to their hard work and efforts as many of them gave their life during its construction. The gateway to American for many of our ancestors. This bridge was the first thing my relatives saw when arriving to its shores. I thank all those people that helped in its construction and continued maintenance for many generations to come!Editing
Only minor adjustments were made in post...mostly just shadow and detail to highlight the metal. In my camera bag
I now carry two bodies....Canon 60D and 6D with an assortment of lenses and a flash.Feedback
Not that difficult of a shot really....catching the right time of day to have the fog splitting the bridge would be hardest to time.
