Location
I took this photo at the back of my house particularly on the wall with a grunge texture.Time
I started to shoot around 5:50pm until 6:30pm.Lighting
I used two speedlights fired wirelessly by using trigger and receiver, one placed at the upper right side and the other positioned 45 degrees in front of the subject.Equipment
• Nikon D7000 • Nikkor 18-105 mm f/3.5-5.6 (f4) • SB600 and SB700 nikon speedlight • one light stand with umbrella (shoot-through)Inspiration
As a Bruce Lee fanatic I love to shoot a look alike model who's happen to be my cousin. We really had fun doing this shoot because his wholebody got wet and he also moved like Bruce Lee.Editing
I just converted it into black and white mode, applied some dodge and burn particularly on the skin, then rain texture blended on the picture to make it more realistic. In my camera bag
as a landscape and portrait photographer I always bring my crop (nikonD7000) and full frame camera (canon 6D). together with my sigma 35mm art lens, tokina 12-24mm f4 and 85mm 1.8 lens for portrait. if I shoot people I bring along my sb700 speedlight and a trigger. as much as possible I travel light and bring just the most important equipment.Feedback
specific time and location are important to achieve this kind of photo. in this kind of photo better to do it indoor or area with less ambient lights to make it easy to control the lights by using wireless speedlights. one more thing is the position of the lights. if you use only one speedlight just position it 45 degrees angle or just at the side pointing the subject. also find a rustic or grunge wall for the background. let the model get wet, and finally you must enjoy what you are doing.
