Sadly I have no studio lights so I am very reliant on natural lighting. Luckily my home studio is south facing which means I get a good amount of natural sunlight through my windows. I had to do this shoot like all my studio shoots between 12pm-3pm (GMT London) to allow for the best lighting. To enhance the light for this shot I used the built in flash in my DSLREquipment
Canon 1000D, 18-55mm standard lens and internal flash.Inspiration
I love candid photography! And the bond there is between a new mother and her new baby is magical! So for this shoot I encourage the mother to interact with her newborn as she normally does. By asking her to do this I was able to take candid photographs of her babies response and the interaction between the two.Editing

I'm no expert when it come to newborn photography (infact I'm not very good at traditional new born shoots at all) So if you're like me and struggle with the traditional style of newborn shoots I would encourage you to try a more candid approach. Encourage the mother to play/talk or sing to the newborn and just capture the natural reactions and interactions.
