I took this photo out in my rose garden. It sits in the back yard where it gets plenty of light.Time
I took this photo in the early morning, right about 8 am before the sun came over the tree tops. That way I didn't have a lot of light pollution and the color therefore could "pop".Lighting
You don't want to get too much light on the subject, as it can wash out the beautiful colors. Also with the color so deep you could see the drops of rain that stayed on the rose that morning after a light shower had just passed. Take several angles of pictures as well and compare to find the most pleasing one.Equipment
I used a Canon T3i and I had a EF-S 18–55mm f/4–5.6 IS STM lens with a #3 macro lens attached. I did use a tripod as I didn't want any shaking. Also use a remote switch so your not causing any shaking during the taking of your picture.Inspiration
I love nature photos. They can be so unpredictable, beautiful, surprising. I have taken several photos and in the process had something else appear, or happen during the taking of said photo. It takes me to my happy place being out there with nature, and seeing what she has to offer on any given day. It's relaxing...and if you sit and listen and look...breath taking.Editing
