Location
This photo is taken on Cape Cod in Chatham, MA.Time
This was in summer or spring I think, so it must have been around 6-7 just as the sun is setting.Lighting
The lighting is just what you see although it is a HDR image with 5 exposures.Equipment
This was taken with a Nikon D90, I'm afraid I do not remember what lens was used but it was definitely on a tripod!Inspiration
The inspiration was simply the light that a setting sun gives you over a body of water.Editing
Just a run of the mill 5 exposure HDR. It is not likely I edited any of the images prior to combining them.In my camera bag
Nikon D800 14mm, 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 28-300mm all Nikon lenses. .9 ND filter and Polariser. Wireless shutter release.Feedback
To be honest I'm not really a fan of this photo. I think it has to do with my bias of finding everything I shoot in the States nowhere near as inspiring as everything I shoot while abroad, and also the ghosting really draws my eye which I'm not a fan of. This is one of my very first HDR's so it was more of an experiment than anything else. But my advice would be to do just that. Experiment as much as possible until you are confident with what you want to achieve and how you know you will be able to do so on any given day. It is only because of test photos like this that I could refine the technique for future use, giving me results that I definitely am proud to exhibit. What this photos taught me is that I like my HDR's to look as realistic as possible.
