Great contrast and composition, that tree seems almost detached from its environment.

Location
i live in a rural area of Warwickshire,England, near to Stratford on Avon, this old oak is the only one left in this field, why i dont know, maybe the farmer has took a shine to it ,the same way i haveTime
this shot was in the afternoon,i had already took some in the morning, but the sky was flat compared to this oneLighting
natural daylight, the rapeseed gives off its own glow much like having the sun aroundEquipment
not much to tell, nikon d60,with an 18-55 lens, handheld,i also ride a motorbike, gives me a better view over the hedgerowsInspiration
i am always scanning the fields for trees, each old tree has its own character,i have a database of favourites i return to on a regular basisEditing
apart from a bit of sharpening and boosting the yellow,i burnt the sky in places to make it a bit more dramaticIn my camera bag
if i am on my bike,i take as little as possible in a rucksack,if on a more planned trip,i have the a manfrotto tripod,55-200 nikon lens ,polarising filters and spare batteries and mem cards,as i have been caught out without them before, not amused!Feedback
one thing i have learned is the shots dont come to you,you have to go and look, travel about a bit,get out of your comfort zone,i dont mind getting down and dirty, makes the end product feel like you have earned it
