A paradox... This was taken 15 seconds after a previous one, called moonrise, 180° behind where the sun was actually going down.

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo from a boat cruising on the Bosphorus in Istanbul. The moon was rising from above the Anatolian side.

Time

The time of the day was when the sun was setting 180 degrees across. A beatiful combination of both happening at the same time.

Lighting

The lighting was created by totally natural conditions, where the moonlight and slowly ligthing of some of the houses and reflection of the sun setting on the other side came together to give the cool atmosphere.

Equipment

Canon 550D 55/250 lens, hand held, no tripod. f/5.6 ISO 6400 Shutter speed 1/4000

Inspiration

I am a sunrise. sunset and moonrise, moonset addict. As I mentioned above the full moon posed for me at the best time, making it possible to take and enjoy the photo.

Editing

No post processing was done.

In my camera bag

Canon 550D, Canon 750 D, with Canon lenses 10/18, 18/55, 55/250, 35mm, 100mm2.8 macro and Tamron 18/400 two different tripods one light one heavy depending on what and where to go.UV an ND fiters set. and spare SD cards of course.

Feedback

As I always say "Take as many photographs as possible... Be trigger happy... Then compare and choose among them the one/s worth publishing and/or sharing." Of course being at the right time and place is as important as having the right equipment. I personally benefit a lot from following friend photographers and members through social media and especially tutorials as in Viewbug.
