Location
This is the volcano Popocatépetl, in central Mexico. I was in the town of Atlixco when I took the photoTime
I took this photo in the early afternoon, I wasn't looking for a specific time to take it, it just happened.Lighting
Actually no, I wasn't expecting to see an eruption and when it happened I just shoot before the smoke was gone.Equipment
I used my Nikon D300 with a Nikkor 18-300mmInspiration
What inspired me was the eruption itself; not that often happen to be in front a volcano while smoke and hashes explode out of it.Editing
Just some cropping and minimum corrections. Everything happened so fast I didn't have time to really set the camera so I needed to do some corrections. In my camera bag
Right now I'm shooting with a Nikon D750. My lenses are a Nikkor 28-300mm, a 300mm f2.8 and a 2X teleconverter. And for finish a have a tripod.Feedback
My only advice would be: go in front an active volcano and stay there until it happen
