Location
This photo was taken at Salt Creek Beach in Laguna Niguel, Dana Point area. One of the best beaches in Southern California in my opinion :-)Time
This was captured during a morning walk on the beach at about 8:30 am.Lighting
The sky was overcast with a fog and cloud mixture which presented the grey hues.Equipment
This photo was taken with a Sony DSLR-A500. Because the photo was more spontaneous I did not have a tripod. Additionally, no flash was used either. The ISO was 200 with w 1/200 exposure time with an f8 aperture value. The focal length was 55.0 mm.Inspiration
I loved the fact that this beautiful sand castle had been built hours before and nobody disturbed it. Additionally, it was about to return to the sea as the high tide was quickly approaching.Editing
The post processing utilized was simply to provide the depth of focus in photoshop. In my camera bag
I just purchased a Nikon D7100 along with a AF-S Nikor 18-200mm lens. This lens does it all! However, I also carry a AF-S Micro Nikkor 85 mm lens for this intense micro opportunities.Feedback
This was simply being in the right place at the right time and having fun capturing it. Somebody else built the castle, the ocean was reclaiming it and I was the benefactor (with a camera)!
