Behind The Lens
Location
The photo was taken in a studio in Melbourne, Australia using a single light source. I am constantly challenging myself in the portraiture and art nude genres.Time
This photo was taken in the middle of the day but being shot in a controlled environment meant that no external light sources were in play. The focus of this image was on engagement with the subject, composition, lighting and presence.Lighting
A single light was chosen to create a low key image to bring out striking tones, contrast and shadows and to heighten the sense of drama and intensity.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D750 with 70-200mm f2.8 hand held.Inspiration
I always strive to keep refining my craft and through this I challenge myself to capture engaging images and working towards ensuring the subject/model is present in the image. Could be best summed up by the desire to continuously evolve in my practice.Editing
Some post processing was undertaken. conversion to black and white and tonal adjustments. In my camera bag
I generally carry a Nikon Z6, three lenses (14-24, 24-70, 70-200) and a flash unit, spare batteries and storage cards.Feedback
Advice to fellow photographers wishing to photograph similar styles would be to keep it simple, not to over think it and shoot variations with different lighting setups.
