This portrait of Felice was taken in my studio in Aalsmeer, Netherlands. There were two lights involved. One stripbox with a grid lighting Felice straight down and a ringlight straight on camera that delivers the halo/shadow behind her. Maybe 20 shots were taken and this one is my favorite. Her pose and the serene way she looks keeps me looking at this shot.Time
It was at the end of the morning, not that it matters for the light, because i used my studio strobes.Lighting
My specialty is working with strobes and continuous lights in my studio. There is so much variation possible and what modifiers i use is strongly depending of the purpose of the shot and the sitter/client.Equipment
This shot was taken with a Sony A7RIII, (42MP) with a Sony 85mm ƒ1.8. @f4.0 A Godox QT400 strobe with a 120x30cm stripbox & grid. The fill light was done with a Godox AD200 and Ringlight R200 with 30º grid on the camera.Inspiration
It was a bit inspired by Nadav Kander and the shot of Bratt Pitt from 2011, mainly for the light.Editing
I always use Capture One for tethering and editing on my Apple laptop. 90% of the editing was done in Capture One and the finishing touch in Photoshop or Affinity Photo. For the colorgrading of portraits i always start with the Portra set of presets from Mastin labs. I tweak and push it to the way that I love it and this has become my signature for my portraits. In my camera bag
This depends of the assignment, bus mostly used is my A7RIII, paired with the Sony/Zeiss 55mm f1.8, Sony 85mm f1.8. When i need to go wider the Sony Zeiss 16-35mm f4.0. Always have a A7C body for backup with me.Feedback
I think enough was revealed in the questions ????
