Behind The Lens

Location

The image was shot in a side street of the Via Veneto area of Rome

Time

Early morning when the streets seemed to have a dew effect on a cloudy day. Just as the city was waking up.

Lighting

The sky was overcast and damp. This made the building colors pop and gave a sheen to the street pavement.

Equipment

The image was shot with a Canon T3i, a Tamron 28-75 mm lens, Speedlight mount. The camera was handheld.

Inspiration

The composition of the cobblestone street as a leading line to the old colorful architecture caught my eye.

Editing

The shot was cropped to eliminate a gray sky, and I added a color pop to the structures.

In my camera bag

I typically carry 2 camera bodies, a speed lite, and my lenses include a wide angle 10-24 mm, an 18-200 telephoto and a 28-75 mm fast lens. Also, spare batteries and SD cards.
