Congratulations Grand Jury Winner "Sugar Grove Shelf Town" by jodimair

"With a theme entitled "Where I live", my mind immediately longs for images that will resonate with a sense of place, with life itself. And this image stood out as soon as I saw it. There's a cinematic feel here but it's both humble and spectacular at the same time. More importantly, I can hear the low rumbling of the thunderheads and smell the ozone in the air; I can easily imagine a family sitting at the dinner table or a boy running with his dog slightly outside the frame. The light is stunning and believable. Everything about it is perfectly executed. Love it." - Patrick La Roque

Congratulations Runner Up "Toronto snowstorm" by Pabloh

"Yes it's blurry. Yes, it's gritty. Yes, it all works. I'm from Montreal and this is what snowstorms in a city usually feel like: chaotic, messy and dirty. Ok, they CAN be “magical” sometimes but mostly… This. I love the fact that the image is completely timeless... This could be 1955; it could be a still from Miracle on 34th Street. Even the smudges work for me. Great." - Patrick La Roque

Congratulations Runner Up "Trinity Lane" by stephanieveronique

"Living is about neighbourhoods, about companionship or the solitude we endure in secret. I see a story in this frame and I can imagine tens of others just as plausible. This image is like a gateway. It's intimate and grandiose. Very nicely seen and very nicely done." - Patrick La Roque

Congratulations Runner Up "Face to face" by EtienneV

"Running out of milk must be a PITA... ;) This is evidently a spectacular capture. But beyond technical prowess, there's also a message here that expands on the theme, made obvious by the title of the entry but also by the image itself. I would've pushed a little less on the treatment and kept it a tad more "realistic" but that's obviously just personal preference and entirely subjective. Very well executed." - Patrick La Roque
