Location
This photo was actually taken in my living room.Time
I took this mid-day when I have the most light coming through my windows in that room.Lighting
I wanted as much light as I could get, so I had natural light from the windows, a ring light, the overhead light, and a reflector on my lap.Equipment
I used a tripod to hold my Sony a7ii with a Sigma 70mm art lens. I used my phone as a remote shutter. For lighting, I used a ring light and reflector.Inspiration
I had just moved into my apartment and filled it with as many plants as I could afford (and then some) because I wanted to bring a little bit of nature home with me. I just love the idea of being one with nature, so I used a coffee table behind me and a crate next to me to set my plants on to create varied heights, and just surrounded myself with all of my plants.Editing
I did minimal post-processing in PS to adjust my skin tone and brighten me up a bit.In my camera bag
I always have my Sony Alpha a7ii, Sigma 70mm art lens, and Rokinon 14mm. I always bring extra batteries and SD cards, as well as a cleaning kit.Feedback
Just play around until you get the look you want! It took me about a half hour of shooting and 50+ shots to pick out just this one.
