I had a trellis by my home's front door that was burgeoning with blossoms at varying stages of color, from brilliant blue to half-blue half-violet to curled-closed umbrella-style swirls of white and deep purple. While photographing all of these, I came across this damaged leaf and thought it remarkable that a bud was so determined to bloom that it went through a leaf to create space on the filled trellis.Time

The original photograph did not display accurately the colors I could see, so I tried the tools in my iPhone to make the photo look more like what I was observing.In my camera bag

What I do is look for patterns, gaps in patterns, patches of color changes, and glimpses of partially hidden underlying details.
