Location
I took this photo on a family vacation to see the Colorado Ice castles.Time
This was taken in the afternoon when the sun was shining bright and no clouds were in the sky.Lighting
I began walking through the ice art and wanted to capture the view from below showing how the ice looked droopy. I also wanted to capture the different shadows and colors in the ice. For this I picked a deep crevasse with a small opening above.Equipment
This was taken with a regular iPhone camera.Inspiration
The different shapes, jagged edges, and crisscrossing of ice in this frame inspired me to take this photo.Editing
I did have to retake this shot a couple times to get the angle and view of the sky I wanted. In my camera bag
I had no equipment for this tripFeedback
Be unique. Try something different, and take the shot even if you think it’ll turn out bad because sometimes you’ll be surprised.
