Location
This photo was taken at the Bear Gulch Reservoir in Pinnacles National Park, CA. This is one of my favorite National Parks due to the numerous rock formations that can be found formed from lava that flowed years ago.Time
I tried to wake up early Autumn of 2020 to catch golden hour, but like true fashion (am more of a night owl) arrived late. I got to the park just before sunset and was able to catch late golden hour/ morning with th sun just coming over a ridge behind me.Lighting
I wanted to have the golden rays light up/ highlight the rock formations.Equipment
Canon Rebel T6, EF 35 mm USM lens with Amazon basics circular polarizer filter, and TYCKA Ranger 56" tripod.Inspiration
Easy to be inspired to take shots at this National Park, though I was inspired by the still water.Editing
Yes. Did one raw shot, dropped some highlights to bring out the sky and brightened the exposure a bit to lift up some of the dark areas and shadows. Also cooled down the temp and brought up the viberance. In my camera bag
My camera of course! And for this trip have 35 mm and 18-55mm lens. I usually do not bring my 35 mm just because it's a heavier lens, but I bright it on this hkining trip. Glad I did!Feedback
Just shot and stay consistent. Don't be afraid to explore your style and the way yoh shoot. Am still learning as well and can't wait to see how I develope in the years to come! Also get comfortable with basic editing skills. It can really help develope the image on how you originally saw it in your mind.
