Location
The photograph was a planned still life working with natural light. It was shot in my studio.Time
Middle of the afternoon taking advantage of full sunny day, room was filled with ambient light.. I worked with what I had, that was my challenge.Lighting
Sometimes you don't get to have to much control with lighting. I make a point to spend time challenging myself with whatever light is available. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't, its all a process.Equipment
Canon Mark D III, F/8 - ISO 200 - manual mode - hand held.Inspiration
I enjoy the creative process of creating still life photography, whether it be food or everyday objects, as well as narratives. I am very inspired by Gregory Crewdson. Having a background in painting, I take advantage of finding a painting and recreating a similar subject matter through photography.Editing
There is no filters, or any manipulation. I do shoot raw, it was saved as a JPEG.In my camera bag
I have little equipment, less is more is my belief. I use both Nikon and Canon cameras. I don't have a huge collection of lens. Nikon zoom 70 - 300, 85, 28 - 55. Canon, kit 24 - 105, Macro 100, 135 prime, 85 prime.Feedback
I don't have advice, but I would suggest for those who enjoy doing still life, whether it be food or everyday objects, try to tell a story. Even if the viewer may not get your story, they will find their own story.
