Behind The Lens

Location

It was taken in front of my apartment building, quite frankly. Proof, that you do not have to go far to find amazing subjects or locations to shoot :)

Time

It was shot at around midday.

Lighting

I gotta say, the lighting was not overly important in this one, composition and the right angle was though. However, I was lucky that it is a place where the sun does not shine directly so it was much easier to avoid overexposure.

Equipment

Just my average Canon EOS and 50mm lense. It is my go-to for almost everything. No tripod, no flash.

Inspiration

I love the purple color and lavender is great for capturing the essence of that...I wanted to do something else than a typical lavender field, so with this photo I used the advantage of the dense bushes to create a nice bokeh. There was a concrete fence around and other distractions so it was a little bit challenging, but I enjoy experimenting with subjects that have potential to create something different and nice to look at.

Editing

I did very little of any post-processing on this photo - the magic is solemnly in the manual settings of my camera :) I only adjusted the color a tiny bit to create that pastel-like feeling.
