Behind The Lens

Location

This photo is definitely one of my favorites I’ve taken. It was taken indoors, in my best friends bedroom.

Time

It was around mid morning, but since it was taken indoors in the dark, the outside lighting was not a factor.

Lighting

We both wanted to glam up for Valentine’s Day, and I decided to get creative with the lighting she had decorating her dresser. We darkened the room as much as we could, and pulled the fairy lights off her dresser.

Equipment

I used my Canon Rebel T7, Lens: EF S18mm-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II

Inspiration

I was trying to showcase more creativity than in my previous pictures. Valentines Day is traditionally a day when you feel loving, cozy and sensual. I wanted to bring that tempting sensuality to life with this photo. Whether you are single or not, you feel pulled into this grungy and dark image.

Editing

I did my usually editing, I began with a new preset I put together and made minor adjustments from there.

In my camera bag

I always bring my two lenses, a cleaning supplies and some lens covers. I am still an amateur, so my equipment is low. I am looking forward to being able to expand my equipment!

Feedback

Exposing the image using such a low exposure setting was a little difficult, but definitely doable. You just need to ensure you have a steady hand, and the image will develop lovely.
