On one of the few clear nights we had in New Zealand, I took the opportunity to make some night shots with the intention of going to the famous Moeraki Boulders, however the tide was already very high and I had half an hour walking on the beach so I took advantage of Take pictures with the reflections in the water of the tide that was rising.
My surprise was that the photos showed a green glow that at first glance I thought was greenish light pollution. Look at the auroras forecast and there was a KP6. This glow appeared in a southerly direction so what I was seeing was an Austral Aurora, which are quite difficult to see in New Zealand.
Although it was very far, it served to give a different touch to the photo with this dairy route, which in itself is very different from the one we are used to in the northern hemisphere.
