This gray heron, distinguished by a yellow crown capping a black and white head, feeds at night. The Yellow crowned night heron feeds upon crayfish, mussels, frogs, snails and small snakes. Their common flight call is a high, squawking bark that sounds like ‘kowk’ or ‘kaow’. Galapagos Archipelago, southeastern Pacific Ocean. Seymour island.
