Location
That was a trip to the Red Sea. Not far from the shore,I have used only the fins to get there. That was the dive mostly for my son, so I took only compact camera. We were lucky that we have met the dugong face to face. So the moment was captured.Time
That was after midday, just perfect time to use natural light below the surface.Lighting
Natural light was just enough to show the dugong and not to draw attention to the dust around. This cute animal is digging everything around then looks for better grass.Equipment
This was shot on compact camera, nothing else was involved.Inspiration
I was looking for anything interesting to show my son underwater, I couldnt even imagine that we will meet the dugong so close.Editing
Very little changes, just the curves. In my camera bag
I used to use Nikon cameras for my shoots for a very long time, started with Nikon D70 and upgraded my gear till Nikon D2X... with heavy still housings.Than I decided to lighten my equipment. So for few years I used Sony Nex-7 in much smaller housing. Very comfortable and light for transportation, because all parts of my set including tripod and underwater flashes fits in one big backpack. Now I am getting back to Nikon cameras and I am using D610 for land shots.Feedback
Just relax and let the things happen.
