The image resembles a rebellious teenager that does not want to have their face captured by camera. I consider this as one of my best shots given that it is purely coincidental. No planning was made for this picture. I tried to capture a candid shot but I was given the hand

Location
This photo was taken at the breakwater in Valletta, with a calm sea in the backgroundTime
It was around the afternoon, where the sun was set high. It wasn't technically a planned shot so I wasn't too thoughtful on the time of day and what not.Lighting
The sun was set high as it was in the afternoon, but given that it was a really cloudy day, it gave the advantage of having a huge sofbox to soften the light of the sun, removing any harsh shadows that might have appeared on the modelEquipment
All I had at that moment on me was my Canon EOS 70D camera with a polarizing filter, and the 18mm-135mm kit lens, but they serve their purposeInspiration
I really love candid shots, so sometimes when I am walking around with someone and I have my camera on me, I will start shooting at random times. This was a really unintentional shot but I'm glad it turned out this great.Editing
The main change is obviously, that I converted it to black and white. From there I also added some clarity to make the texture a bit sharper, and the darks a little darker to make it a bit moody. Also some minor light balancing to remove the contrast from the relatively bright sky and the dark clothing of the model. Other than that, it was left untouched. In my camera bag
Depending on the shoot, but usually my go-to equipment is my Canon EOS 70D camera, and the 18mm-135mm kit lens. Depending on the lighting of that day, I will also carry a flash and if I know that the location will be somewhere where there will be a lot of reflections or bright sky, I also put on my polarizing filter in-front of the cameraFeedback
Do not be afraid to take random pictures. You don't need to set up and prepare for all the shoot, some will just come out naturally. Also, a shot that you might thing looks undesirable, might just need a different way of communicating the image to the audience, by changing it's mood
