Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken in a small town called Mattawa in Northern Ontario.Time
This photo was taken in the early afternoon.Lighting
This photo was shot behind an island where only kayaks and canoes can go because of the water depth. It is located close to a hydro dam. Behind this island, there are several kinds of wildlife living in every area. There is a large beaver dam, turtles perched up on logs drying out in the sun, a family of geese hiding in the long grass, cranes landing on rocks and so many frogs and butterflies that you are never left without something to take a picture of there.Equipment
This was shot with my little Nikon Coolpix L830. A perfect point and shoot camera. I no longer have this camera because I have switched to a DSLR, but what a perfect little camera it was.Inspiration
I was inspired to take this photo as this is a place where I have been going for over 35 years to escape and be with nature. When I was younger, I would get in our canoe and head back behind this island. Being a little kid and having the freedom to be on the water was something I cannot describe. Flash back to now, and I still find it just as peaceful and magical to go there, usually in my kayak now. It's my little piece of Heaven on earth.Editing
This picture was shot just like it is with no editing of any kind.In my camera bag
I now use a Nikon D5200 that I just bought to learn more about DSLRs.Feedback
If you want to capture something like this, just to out without expecting to capture anything specific. Enjoy the nature and your surroundings and you never know what you may find.
