Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Doncaster Sheffield Airport Finningley

Time

Having stayed at the airport for 3 days awaiting the final ever flight of Avro Vulcan XH558 the only airworthy example of one of the most iconic British Aircraft ever built, the rain stopped , the clouds parted and the sun shone through at 14:55 as if by design and the mighty aircraft bid farewell to its fanatical supporters.

Lighting

The lighting just seemed to depict the aircraft flying into its farewell sunset.

Equipment

Nikon D5200 with a sigma 150mm-500mm lense

Inspiration

Nothing more and nothing less than my sheer love of aviation and this incredible aircraft and the fact that this was a sight never to be witnessed again.

Editing

The only post processing was to lower the exposure and increase the clarity with the assistance of photoshop cc

In my camera bag

Nikon d5200, Nikon d300, Sigma 150-500mm lense, Tamron 70-300mm lense and Nikon 28-100 af lense.

Feedback

The only advice i would offer especially with aviation photography is to have lots of patience and practice with following moving objects although with jets you can have your shutter speed quite high to help reduce shake.
