Location
This photo was taken at a wedding at Wishing Well Barn near Tampa, Florida in October. The fields behind them are blueberry fields.Time
I noticed this scene when I scouted the wedding venue a month before. I knew at that time I wanted to get the bride and groom and trees in a reflection at sunset. This was taken around 7:30pm in October of 2014.Lighting
All natural lighting during golden hour sunset with some post editing in Lightroom.Equipment
I used my Nikon D3s and what I had at the time for a wider lens, the Nikkor 24-70 2.8. For this shot currently I'd likely use my Sigma Art 35 or 24.Inspiration
When I did the venue walk through about a month before the wedding, I noticed that not only did these trees mirror each other, but then there was also the reflection in the pond they were near. I knew this had to be a shot I got that day also since it was my first wedding at this venue.Editing
Yes! In Lightroom I upped the vibrancy and saturation. I also added gradients in all four corners to make the sunset more colorful since there were no clouds at the time.In my camera bag
When I shoot a wedding I have literally all of my equipment. At least 2 camera bodies, 5 lenses, 3 flashes, 2 flash stands, Octabox diffuser, reflector, lots of SD cards and extra batteries for cameras and flashes.Feedback
Honestly it was all about timing and just observing the things around me. I say just be observant and notice reflections and look at things from different perspectives (up close and far away, different angles).
