Location
This photo was taken at a beautiful lake that you could walk out on, what seemed like forever, and it would only be ankle deep. Perfect for taking pictures of little ones. This lake is called Candle Lake in Saskatchewan Canada.Time
We arrived at this location around 7:30pm, as I unpacked and brought everything down, by the time I took this picture it was 8:30 pmLighting
I was worried cause there was no clouds in the sky what so ever. In summer time, Saskatchewan doesn't get pitch black until approx 10:30-11 pm (sundown approx 9:00-9:45). By then, My kid is ls fast asleep or a super grouch! So, I waited for a cloud to block the sun just enough so I could take a great picture. The sun is behind her, but it really isn't that bright in the straight out of camera version.Equipment
The only equipment used in this image was my Nikon D610 & my Tamron 70-200mm Lens.Inspiration
Not what, but who, This super amazing photographer Jake Olson always takes these amazing water images of different subjects. My images look nothing like his, but he was the one who inspired me to take this image.Editing
Oh goodness, this image looks nothing like the image that was taken straight out of camera. I used a sky overlay, and sun overlay, darken, and added some warmth to the image. Obviously some in between here and there edits. In my camera bag
In my bag, I ALWAYS have my camera - obviously! haha. And my 70-200mm lens! I absolutely love the bokeh this lens gives! I carry my 24-70mm, 50mm and my 90mm Macro.Feedback
Being at the right time of day will help creating a image like this. Obviously the lighting plays a huge part in this image. Let your subject be natural and not so stiff looking.and having a great beach!
