My son had been playing around all day long, and after dinner he fell asleep in the couch in a second. He was so peaceful and beautiful in the half light of the living room that I had to grab my camera and shoot.Time
When I took this picture It was late at night, my son was exhausted. and the minute he had the chance he climbed to the couch and fell asleep right away.Lighting
I didn´t set up any light, this was taken with a very small amount of ambient light.Equipment
I shot this picture with a Nikon 610, and my favorite lens, a 50 mm, f 1.4. Since I had so little light I shoot at 1/30 and used the maximum aperture.Inspiration
This a very spontaneous image, I just saw my son and that peaceful expression in his face. He remind me of my childhood years, how often did I felt asleep in a second after a whole day playing outside.Editing
I did some processing here, but not a lot. I adjusted the white balance and darken the background to eliminate stuff that did´t add to the photo. In my camera bag
I normally pack my Nikon 610, my 50mm, f1.4 lens -my favorite- and a 28-300 mm. I also pack a bunch of memory cards, an extra battery, a speed light and a tripod. Always a tripod!Feedback
You never know when an amazing image is going to be there in front of you, so my advice is always have your camera ready, with charged battery and a memory card in. Train your eyes to identify beautiful light, and whenever you have the chance shoot!
