Behind The Lens

Location

This is Duffus Castle at Lossiemouth in the north of Scotland.

Time

The shot was taken at sunset through the Autumn/winter time.

Lighting

The light up here is fantastic, low dramatic sun in the winter and light almost 24 hours a day in the summer.

Equipment

Shot on a Canon 6D with 24-70mm f2.8L lens and Formatt 8stop Filter.

Inspiration

I love working up here, you can barely go a mile down the road without stopping to photograph another beautiful scene. Duffus Castle is a prominent feature being visable for miles around it.

Editing

All I had done for the edit was adjust the temperature slightly and vignette a little. I felt the light, scene and exposure spoke for themselves.

In my camera bag

Canon 6D, 5DmkII, 24-70 f2.8L, 70-200 f2.8L, 100mm macro L, Formatt filters, yonguo YN560IV flash guns x4 with remote and ancillaries.

Feedback

Stick to the basics, composition, lead in lines and get the exposure right. The beauty of these relics usually speaks for it's self.
