This is Velvet, my partners daughter, and my new best friend. This image conveys a sense of freedom and playfulness found in children, but what it doesn't show is that at age 17 months Velvet had a stroke, and in fact she is lucky to be alive here with us. Today I get to care for this little chickadee, it's not easy, but very rewarding. Oh, she is the hardest subject to capture on camera too!
