This is a picture I took of the Grand Canyon. My husband and I went to Arizona in November of 2015 for our honeymoon. What a beautiful time of year to visit!Time
My husband and I were honeymooning in Scottsdale, AZ in November of 2015. Since neither of us had ever been to the Grand Canyon, we decided to make 3.5 hour drive to go see it. The further north we got in the state, the more snow there was on the ground and the lower the temperature seemed to be! This photo was taken around 11:30 A.M., on Veteran's Day (November 11, 2015). While I was new to the photography thing at the time I took this and I have since learned that it's best to keep the horizon horizontal, this is one of my favorite pictures.Lighting
Since it was outdoors and a sunny day, I just used Mother Nature for my lighting! Even if it wasn't, I was pretty new to the photography business when I took this shot and wouldn't have even thought about playing with the lighting.Equipment
At the time I took this, I did not have a fancier camera. However, my cellular phone did take some amazing shots. That's what I used here; this was simply taken on my Motorola Droid Turbo.Inspiration
This was my first time visiting the Grand Canyon. I found it to be one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to! The wonderful color range definitely persuaded me to take this photo.Editing
I played around a little bit with the color filters that my Motorola Droid Turbo came with in the Gallery app. I just wanted to make the beautiful colors pop a little bit more!In my camera bag
Right now, I only have one digital camera. I have a Canon PowerShot SX400 IS. I do not have any extra lens for it, which is good because if I did, I'd have to get a larger camera bag! I also keep my Focus flash drive in my bag for easier uploading. I also have cleaning supplies, including a lens wipe, solution, and Q-Tips. I'm still a "newbie" when it comes to this, but someday I'd love to have a larger camera, a larger camera bag, and more lens to go with it!Feedback
My advice would simply be: take it on whatever you have! You do not need a fancy, expensive camera to capture a shot like this! You also do not need a fancy, expensive photo editing program to enhance the photo! I took this on my cell phone and I edited it on my cell phone. Us "newbies" have to start somewhere!
