Location
This photo was taken at Glenfield Park in my hometown of Montclair, NJ, during a winter storm that produced thick, heavy snow. I love the snow and winter; so I ventured out with my camera in the hope of capturing the beauty of the transforming snow. When I came upon this scene, it caught my eye and my imagination.Time
I went out early in the morning, while it was still snowing, because I wanted to experience the pristine beauty of the snow before people and their pets came out and spoiled the undisturbed blanket of white snow.Lighting
The natural daylight of an early winter morning reflecting off of the surface of the snow was the source of light.Equipment
I shot this image with a Kodak instamatic, film camera.Inspiration
I love the snow, winter and the beauty of nature.Editing
Yes. I've misplaced the negative; therefore I scanned the print, and then I edited it in Photoshop. In my camera bag
My primary camera body is a Canon EOS 5D Mark III. I usually carry the Canon EF 24 -105mm f/2.4L IS USM; Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM; and Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM lenses in my camera backpack.Feedback
Unlike some other photographers, I rarely scout or plan ahead for a shoot. Instead I prefer to explore my surroundings and discover a scene or event that captures my eye and attention, relying upon my instincts and intuition more so than any rules. This approach may not work for everyone, but it keeps me alert, aware and in the moment.
