Location
This photo was taken in a home I used to rent.Time
I believe I took this photo in the afternoon, when the sun was coming through the windows.Lighting
I just used natural light in this image.Equipment
This photo was taken with Nikon D3100.Inspiration
A few friends and I all had babies around the same time and I was taking their individual Christmas photos. All their dads were deployed (including my husband). It was really just an 'on-the-whim' type photo and my friends absolutely loved it! It is still, to date, one of my favorite images. Luckily, nobody made a mess!Editing
Very minimal processing on this image. I brought out the color a bit, sharpened and made a few of the lights shine a bit more to draw attention to what the one baby is looking at.In my camera bag
Nikon cameras and yongnuo flashes. Lots of batteries and memory cards!Feedback
When photographing babies, you definitely have to be quick! I feel blessed that I was able to get this image in just a few shots. I was originally going with all of them facing away from me, but the one baby was so enthralled with the lights and this ended up being my favorite. Sometimes the shot you imagine doesn't go as planned but works out for the better!
