Location
I took this photo at the Audi South Orlando dealership.Time
This photo was taken at about 1 in the afternoon or so.Lighting
Dealership lighting is always horrendous. The room this was in has a huge window, so this wheel had a lot of light.Equipment
I had a used Canon T3i that I bought refurbished on Amazon, the 18-55mm stock lens that came with it, and a terrible fragile plastic tripod that has since broken. I did not use any flash or other lights.Inspiration
This photo was for a class assignment to take pictures of man-made objects.Editing
Our class assignment forbade post processing, and we had to shoot in monochrome jpeg.In my camera bag
It depends on what I want to do. If I'm just taking a camera someplace and not trying to do anything serious, I'll take my Canon T3i and a 24-105 f4L lens with me. If I'm trying to get good photos, I'll take my Canon 1D-C and either my 24-70 f2.8L , my 70-200 f2.8L IS ii, or my Tamron 90mm f2.8 DI VC macro lens. I'll also bring my Manfrotto adjustable fluid drag tripod with carbon fiber legs if I want stability.Feedback
Don't shoot toward a giant light source, especially if you can't move it. Instead, find a way to use it, or move the subject in a way that the light is more useful. Also, try to make sure what you are shooting is clean and not grimy.
