Behind The Lens

Location

Oahu. Caught my eye during a walk. For me, I shoot when something stirs an emotion.

Time

Earle afternoon

Lighting

For me, the water glistening from the sun and the contrast of lighthouse and landscape.

Equipment

Nikon with standard zoom.

Inspiration

The stately watchful lighthouse against the sea. A guardian for vessels.

Editing

I usually check the balance and contrast. I like to keep things simple.

In my camera bag

I now have Nikon D300, 55/200, 18/55,80/400 and use whatever is handy for stability such as a fence post, car hood. I am looking at getting a monopod-seems it would work for me. By the time I set up a tripod I would miss the shot. Like a country garden, I am casual, unstructured and spontaneous.

Feedback

Well, I love the East and North shore of Oahu and can spend hours gazing. You never know when something of interest will appear. I think one needs to be mindful of the beauty that surrounds us. Be patient and let it flow.
