It was noon, not the best time to be shooting, but there were clouds, and this warthog seemed ready and willing to put on a show for me.Equipment
Sony SLT-A77v, f6.3, 1/320 sec, ISO 200, focal length 300 mm, center weighted average, RAW.Inspiration
I'm not especially a lover of warthogs, but this particular one seemed to be putting on a show for the camera, almost smiling and coming towards me. I really enjoyed this photo shoot as he did all sorts of things for the camera.Editing
Yes, I always shoot in RAW, so processed it in Photoshop, changed to JPEG and also sized it down. Blurred the background a bit.In my camera bag
Sony SLT A77v with an old Minolta Maxxum 100-200 mm lens. Recently purchased a Sony a6000 and have the adapter to be able to use lenses from the A77. Recently purchased a Sony 4.-5.6/70-400 G SSM II lens to use specifically when I go out to the bird preserves as it is a little heavy to carry around on average days:) I've just recently gotten into photography, 1 year, so am slowly getting equipment as I can afford it.Feedback
I have found with photography, the most important thing for me is patience, patience, patience, and then certainly skill. I really enjoy doing wildlife photography. Animals tend to do spectacular stuff, usually when one is not expecting it, so have patience, spend as much time watching and waiting for the subject to do something fabulous. So other than learning your camera, patience is an attribute for wildlife photography that cannot be overlooked.
