Location
This photo was made in my front yard on some flowers in our beds. I am a self taught photographer and still learning. My intentions were to get some macro shots of the flowers but this little beauty showed up and I concentrated on it instead.Time
This was made in the worst time of day, around the noon hour.Lighting
The lighting was very harsh daylight. Mid afternoon. It was a little breezy so the daylight allowed me to use a faster shutter speed and low ISO.Equipment
I used a Canon 20D with a Canon 100 mm L 2.8 lens. I hand held for this shot.Inspiration
The butterfly just few in at the perfect time and the perfect spot. The lens I was using was brand new so I was anxious to try it out.Editing
I use Lightroom 5 and i did some post processing on it. I sharpened and saturated the colors a bit. Also added a light vignette. In my camera bag
I recently upgraded my equipment from the 20D. In my bag you will find a Canon 7D MK II, a 70-200 mm L 2.8 IS II, 100 mm L 2.8 IS Macro, and a kit lens 18-135 mm F3.5-5.6 IS STM. I use a Think Tank Streetwalker Pro backpack, Think Tank Speed Racer V2.0 shoulder bag and a Tamrac Expedition 7 backpack.Feedback
All I can say is watch your lighting, composition have a macro lens or the best lens that you have, a lot of patience and just shoot...shoot...shoot...and have fun.
