Yeah you for rescuing a pet. I have adopted a house full. It's as if they know you saved them. He's a beauty:)

Location
I was volunteering at a pet shelter and visiting with the resident cats, the one in this photo seemed to take over the entire room with his presence.Time
It must have been 2 p.m., or sometime in mid-afternoon, when I call him Gabriel and I were just sitting in a small room to the side, no windows but a great amount of ambient light. I don't use a tripod, but I didn't need one.Lighting
There seemed to be a magical light above Gabriel's head. That's why he was looking up to his right, it seemed to me as if for inspiration.Equipment
I used a point and shoot camera on automatic settings.Inspiration
I was fascinated by Gabriel. His every movement just mesmerized me. I always look at this photo asking myself what Gabriel was feeling when he looked up.Editing
I used a minimal amount of photoshop in this case, since there was an adequate amount of lighting. Gabriel's coat was a mixture of light and dark grays which seemed to work well in this environment by itself. In my camera bag
In this case, I only brought my camera, but usually I bring batteries, and a carrying case for the camera.Feedback
I feel that you don't necessarily have to go to some place exotic to find a good photo taking opportunity. Just look around. Sometimes my best photos come from acting on a feeling I have.
