Xaver Blum, the Swiss shoemaker and church sexton, lived in Risch in the canton of Zug from 1902 to 1990. Since 1992,
his machines and tools have been owned by the Museum Burg Zug. The workshop there displays the state of mechanization around 1930. Blum was known for his work as a shoemaker and his tools and machines have been preserved to showcase the craftsmanship and technology of the time.
