Behind The Lens

Location

I took this shot at home through an open window, you can see the window in the reflection in his eye.

Time

Mid-morning

Lighting

Great natural lighting that day, a thin cloud veil allowing plenty of natural light without the harshness of direct sun.

Equipment

Shat with a Canon 70D and Sigma 150-600 6.3 Contemporary lens. Handheld

Inspiration

Avid birder and wildlife photographer. I saw a great opportunity to photograph one of my favorite birds the Blue Jay, as they frequent my feeder.

Editing

Very minimal post-processing, just cropping, sharpening, shadow, and highlights adjustment.

In my camera bag

My Canon 70D, 7D II, Sigma 150-600 6.3 Contemporary lens.

Feedback

Patience is the key with birds, you just have to wait for that moment to happen. Also pay attention to the changing light conditions outdoors.
