Location

This shot was taken in my office, at a time when the feeling of suffocation and deprivation during Covid confinement was at its peak.

Time

Quite hard to remember it exactly ...I would most likely say I took this shot in the late morning.

Lighting

Nothing special except the soft light of the sun filtering through te windows.

Inspiration

"Freedom of expression" What does this term still mean at a time supposed to be civilized and most of the taboos supposed to be denounced? On the contrary! The restrictions are multiplying and strengthening: everything is subject to the ban. The ban on thinking, thinking, acting and expressing oneself freely is gradually settling in: can we still discuss everything without running the risk of being labeled right or left, as a dissenter or a sheep? The world of culture, where the artist freely expresses his discomfort , will he soon also be bullied in this world of deprivation? Can a humorist still denounce some subjects without risking being deprived of public? It is therefore difficult not to think of the novel by Georges Orwell: 1984 with this feeling of oppression and deprivation.

Editing

Rather than through a "simple" photo, I wanted to illustrate (and reinforce) this feeling of oppression in a dark way with a foray into the world of Japanese manga.

In my camera bag

Except for this shot (Samsung S10), I usually used my Nikon D5100 but since a few months I've the Nikon D7200. Always with the Sigma 18-50 f1.8
