Drosera nitidula is a Pygmy Sundew from Western Australia and this plant is only 8 mm (0.315 inch) across. Drosera nitidula is a member of my carnivorous plant collection and has reached this size in only two months from the gemmae, an alternative form of reproduction this species uses. It traps small insects by luring them into its sticky tentacles laden with digestive enzymes using plant pheromones which are excreted into the air from small glands contained within the leaf.
