Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the island Isla Del Sol in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Time

It was later in the evening around 5 or 6. Not quite sure, but I was on a walk and was just taking pictures of whatever caught my eye.

Lighting

I took this photo from probably 20 different angles, and I liked this image the most because the only thing in this photo is the bird.

Equipment

I used a Canon Powershot SX10 IS. That’s about it, and some good lighting from the evening sun!

Inspiration

I love taking photos of birds and Florida is a great place to do it! I’m from Minnesota, so I love experiencing everything that Florida has to offer. Like the beaches, wildlife, and palm trees! I probably took 200 pictures of birds on my last trip to Florida but I liked this one the most.

Editing

I’m not too tech savvy with editing photos. I normally use PS Express with images on my phone or I use some editing apps on my computer. I’m just beginning photography so I’m starting basic.

In my camera bag

I have my camera, extra batteries, and lots of memory cards! I have a pretty basic set up, and I’m planning on expanding my set up soon.

Feedback

Take pictures of what makes you happy. Don’t try to force a good picture. Just go out and take pictures of whatever you find captivating. Also, remember to take more than one picture of something just incase! If you really love something you’re taking a picture of, look at it from all possible angles! And make sure you have fun!
