Photo Taken at Rondevlei, Sedgefield, South AfricaTime
This photo was taken 16h41, the light was softer and illuminated the subject as he was preening his feathers.Lighting
With the light hitting the subject I noticed just how clear the subject appeared and every feather was visible. It reminded me of a ballerina the way it arched to reach the tail feathersEquipment
This was shot on a Canon 7D mk2 paired with a Tamron 150-600 G2. It was taken hand held.Inspiration
I was mainly taking photo's pf King Fishers in action. Noticing this Darter to the side, I suddenly saw the bright image appearing as the sun hit it andjust knew this would make a fine image.Editing
As this was shot in RAW, I did a bit of tweaking in Lightroom, just helping it come to lifeIn my camera bag
My other lenses, is my trusty 10-18mm Canon wide angle, because you never know when a great landscape might find you. Then I also carry the Canon nifty fifty and my Canon 18- 135mm to cover a few basis.Feedback
Birds can be in flux or stationary. Decide on you subject and set your camera for that specific action. Learn their behaviour to give you and estimated guys on what to expect from your subject. Most of all be patient and always have fun. Rome was not built in a day!!!!
