Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken just near the washing line at the back of our temporary home, in the town of Gununa, Mornington Island, in the Gulf of Carpentaria.

Time

It was a hot an sunny Sunday just around 11am.

Lighting

No, it was snapped in a hurry, no set up done at all.

Equipment

I grabbed my husband's Nikon D500 as I ran out of the house.

Inspiration

I was wshing my hands when I saw a Frill Necked Lizard lounging on a tree in the back yard, I grabbed the camera and ran around back. He was gone, I sneaked around quietly looking for him but I spooked him and he ran off. Then I realised this Kookaburra was less than 30cm away from me just watching the whole time!

Editing

Yes. Increased saturation and improved contrast.
