Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at 'Le Herou' in Belgium, on one of the heighest rock cliffs in the country.

Time

After waking up very early and a 3 hour drive, I arrived at this amazing location in my own country. I just arrived on this spot as there was still a bit of fog in the valley below, about 2 hours after sunrise.

Lighting

the sun was just high enough to light up the area where the fog was but not yet high enough to illuminate the whole scene. Therefore it created a contrast between the darker foreground and the lighter background, emphasising the fog.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D850 and a sturdy tripod

Inspiration

It was my first time at this spot, seeing those patches of fog below just drew me in.

Editing

The image was processed in Lightroom, just to amp up the colours and give a bit more contrast to the scene

In my camera bag

Nikon D850, a selection of lenses (35mm, 24-70mm, 10-20mm) and a tripod

Feedback

Just go out and explore and you'll come across many an opportunity. And always use a tripod when you can to minimize the noise from slight movements in your shot.
