Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the backyard of my home

Time

It was a beautiful rainy day in monsoon, few years back. It was around daytime. I went out in the garden with my siblings to capture some good shots in the rain.

Lighting

Natural light i.e. sunlight works best. I did not use flash as I wanted to use the natural light to capture photo as close to the reality as possible.

Equipment

I used Nikon D3300 with 18-55mm 1/3.5 lens

Inspiration

I love nature and capturing its colors. I was thinking to improve my skills and wondering the best time to capture my next shot. Monsoon season had just started and I realized I did not have a rainy season photo in my collection hence I grabbed my camera and went out to the garden with my siblings.

Editing

I did not edit the photo too much, I just blurred out the background and increased contrast and brightness levels a little to bring focus to the leaf with raindrops.

In my camera bag

Camera body, lens, battery, tissues, memory card and charger.

Feedback

I am not an expert in photography, I am still learning to improve my skills. The only advice I think I can give is that natural light and daytime are best to capture similar photos and moments. Going out in the nature and capturing its beauty is fun. Take time, relax and do it at your own pace. Maybe while you are admiring the nature's beauty, you will find a moment where you feel you don't want to miss capturing that moment. Something you would like to share with others.
